                     HEALTH FREAK  LADOO    

         Conscious about calories but still crave for sweets ..Then don't think try out these healthy Ladoo...  
                             Almond is packed with  great nutrients .They are excellent source of  vitamin E  and magnesium .Almonds are heart healthy as well as conferring anti oxidants . Oats are already know to help removing cholesterol from the digestive system that otherwise end up in your blood stream .Fine Sooji or semolina  improves kidney function because of its potassium content .Then why to say No !!   to Ladoos .... Enjoy ...



Ingredients :
              1 small cup of  Almond flour (just grind the  almonds in coffee grinder  )
               1/2 small  cup of powder oats 
              1/2 small cup  of  whole wheat flour 
              1 small f cup of  fine sooji or semolina 
              2tbsp of pure maple syrup 
              1 /2 tbsp of ghee (after all its a sweet )
              a pinch of cardamon powder 

Recipe :
           Place a nonstick pan  on a medium flame .Add 1/2 tbsp of ghee and add all the above ingredients and keep stirring  continuously for 10 to 15 minutes on medium flame .Remove and transfer into a tray let it cool down and pour the Maple syrup and make into a balls and serve ...



        
WHOLE WHEAT BAKED KARANJI WITH DRY FRUITS  
   Traditional karanji or gujiyas  are made out of All purpose flour or maida .Being an health freak I tried out healthier way by twisting with a whole wheat pastry flour .Enjoy this  healthy ,low fat and protein packed baked karanji 



Ingredients :
           For the dough:
            1 cup  Whole wheat pastry flour 
           2  tbsp of milk  
           a pinch of salt 
           1 tbsp of semolina 

         For the Filling :
                    1/2 cup of dry roasted  mixed  coarsely grinded dried fruits (of ur choice . I used almonds ,pistachio , walnuts )
                   1/2 tbsp of  roasted semolina 
                   1/2 of  coconut palm sugar or brown sugar .



Recipe :
          Mix  all the above   ingredients except for the filling and make into a stiff dough and cover it with a  wet cheese cloth and keep it aside for 15 minutes . For the filling inside mix   all the dried roasted above nuts and semolina .Once it cools down , then  add palm sugar to the dry roasted nuts   . Now make  a small ball of out of the dough and roll in to a circle shape and place inside the karanji presser  and keep the filling inside and close it and remove the excess dough . Meanwhile preheat the oven to 375  degree F and  place these karanji in the oven and bake it for 15 to 20 minutes till it becomes golden brown .Remove it and once it is completely cool down and keep it in airtight container .
